This hoodie is organic and ethically made, but crucially, manufactured solely using sustainable energy generated from wind and solar power. Working in regions where organic cotton is planted and harvested by hand, without mechanisation the region also receives up to 95% of its water from the monsoon rain. This is an important consideration as the monsoon rain reduces the need for large-scale irrigation projects normally associated with conventional cotton farming. Certified by the Oeko-Tex 100 Standard, the dyes used in this hoodie take into consideration the safety of textiles and dyestuffs to human health. There is also a guarantee that cotton from Uzbekistan will not be used while the use of forced child labour is endemic. The inks used to print are water based and are approved by the Soil Association. Following the carbon neutral of the manufacturing there is a ‘No Airfreight’ policy when transporting and instead of airfreight containerised ocean shipping methods are used.

It’s not easy finding wind powered factories in India that make T-shirts. It’s not easy getting approval from SKAL or the Soil Association for your products and the places they’re produced. But that’s what we did and that’s why we’re content when we kick off our slippers and curl up at night. We’re also feeling pretty happy with ourselves because we’ve managed to do this without inflating our prices. In fact, we actually donate 10% of our gross profit (i.e. before we’ve paid our wages and topped up the biscuit tin) to charity and still maintain what we believe are highly competitive prices.
