howies are passionate about creating stylish low impact jeans. Their denim weighs in at a heavy 12 ounces and is woven in a 3x1 construction, making it a nice comfortable all season weight, but very tough. It is woven using ring spun yarns that are dyed with a similar indigo to the colour of vintage American jeans and then eco-ball washed. An Eco-Ball is a rubberized ball that looks similar to a golf ball, using this allows jeans to be washed without using chemicals or using scarce earth resources like pumice stone. The critical seams are triple stitched and they use industrial strength bar tacks on the pockets. Pocket linings are not bleached. howies philosophy is that the single biggest thing we can do for the environment is make garments last longer.
