Ethical Issues

ETHICAL ISSUES, SOLUTIONS AND CERTIFICATION

How does Adili assess what qualifies as 'Ethical Fashion'?

All the products Adili stocks tackle at least one of the environmental and social issues involved in making, transporting and selling clothes. However we believe tackling one issue is the beginning not the end. We therefore work with brands that share our vision that fashion can, and should, be made so that both people and planet benefit; with brands who are constantly striving to improve the ethical impact of their supply chains; with brands who when they have grasped one ethical issue in the production of their clothes move on to the next.

In practical terms this means we assess both the brand and the product against our ethical frameworks covering environmental impact, working conditions and fair trade. These frameworks cover the whole supply chain for a product. We do not expect perfection in all areas - garment supply chains are often long, complex and fragmented and many of the pioneering ethical brands are still small companies, however we do look for commitment and assess development and improvement.
