The weavers live in South East Cambodia. Weaving is a part time job for them, since they work in rice fields: weaving helps them to have a salary outside of the rice season.

In 2002, Sandy Blain left France to visit Cambodia, where she met sewers in difficulty in a country in crisis. She decided to create "La Vie Devant Soie" (LVDS). The idea: to concentrate on the style as well as the ethics; to create modern and elegant products of high quality. Trendy and luxurious, LVDS creates fashionable accessories (bags, clutch bags, hats, scarves...) with a great design. Sandy incorporates off cuts of different fabrics ie:cotton & leather when designing many of her bags, bringing them back to life in her beautifully designed pieces. The re-use of these fabrics is therefore recycling exsisting stocks potentially headed for a landfill somewhere & therefore preventing excessive waste
